American Girl Samantha Wearing 0027 Kirsten -
Forget-Me-Not Summer Dress

This is the first of Maulfrid's patterns that I knit. This was for a group knit along project that Maulfrid generously sponsored.

I was so happy with the group's choice of this pattern since it is one of my favorite designs and for the sentimental reason that Forget Me Not flowers were one of my mother's favorites. Every time I picked the project up to work on it I thought of her.

Each garment included in this pattern has a design element that kept the knitting interesting and enjoyable. I loved the easily executed floral borders on the scarf and dress, and all the sweet drawstring cords at the sweater cuffs and at the waistband of the pants. Probably my favorite element of this pattern was how nicely the shoulder area and neckline of the dress fit to cover the cloth body of this doll.

This is a wonderful design and I hope to make it again soon.

Thanks for sharing!

Nice to hear that knitting on this dress with Forget-Me-Not flowers gave you good thoughts to you mother. I used to pick these flowers when I grow up. There was a field close to my home.
Nice to hear from you! Tanks for lovely picture and you have done a wonderful work.

A truly lovely outfit!
by: Kathy

I love your rendition of this beautiful pattern! Forget-me-nots are one of my very favorite flowers, as well. We lived in OH for 22 years, and the forget-me-nots in a little flower garden near the patio, along with the daffodils, were such a welcome sign there that spring had sprung!

Penny, your outfit is magnificent! I'm very glad to hear it was easy to knit. You did beautiful work!

I wish this outfit was available for Sasha sized dolls - I'd knit several.

Knitting links
by: Nicola Crowie

How lovely that your dolls dress made you think of your mother. Knitting is a wonderful link between the generations who have gone and the ones who are coming.
