Baby doll knitting patterns

 Here is a lovely baby outfit for your baby doll

Model 0172D SIMEN - Suit, hat, socks and blanket
(This pattern fits 17" - 18" dolls like Baby Born)

I started knitting the legs. Here I have knitted a simple little pattern in white. The edges around the arms and around the legs are a little wide and look nice on your doll. I am sure you know how much I love moss sts for doll clothes. I have decreased the dress a little along the center back, which is lovely for this suit.

This time I have used dbl moss sts as pattern along the opening front ... ... and at the top of the back. The hood is knitted in st st with edges knitted in garter sts. Perfect for this suit. A sneak peek at this pattern ... Suit Dbl moss sts: 1st row: k2, p2 alternatively across row 2nd row: K over k, p over p 3rd row: p2, k2 4th row: p over p, k over k Repeat these 4 rows. 1st leg: Cast on 60 sts and knit 3 rows ga. On next row decrease every 3rd sts = 40 sts on row. Purl next row. Continue knitting 6 rows pattern. (See diagram), 2 rows st st. On next row do the following increases: K5, increase 1 sts in every sts until 5 sts are left on row, k5 = 70 sts on row. Continue knitting st st until work measures 6 cm for the short-legged suit. (For a long-legged suit knit until work measures 13 cm) Put work aside and knit the other leg in the same way. Continue knitting both legs onto a circular ndl or 4 double pointed ndls and continue knitting 3 rows st st over all sts. (140 sts in total) Place a marker for center front and center back. Begin row from center front. Do the following decreases: K1, k2tog, knit until 3 sts before center back, k2tog TBL, k2, k2tog, knit until 3 sts before center front, k2tog TBL, k1. Repeat these  ...

 ...  decreases every 3rd row 5 times altog = 120 sts on row. Continue knitting 2 rows st st over all sts before knitting the suit back longer like this: Continue knitting st st until center back before knitting 20 sts st st, turn, purl 40 sts, turn, k30 sts, turn, purl 20 sts. Continue knitting st st to center front. Knit 1 row. Next row: Purl 20, knit st st until 20 sts are left on row, purl 20. Repeat this row once more before knitting the suit back and forth to get an opening along the center front. Cast on 5 new sts. (Front band) Knit these 5 sts, p2, knit 16 sts dbl moss sts, p2, knit until 20 sts are left on row, p2, knit 16 sts dbl moss sts, p2. Next row. Cast on 5 new sts (front band) and knit next row from the WS like this: K3, p2, k2, knit 16 sts moss sts, k2, knit until 25 sts are left on row, k2, knit 16 sts moss sts, k2, p2, k3. Continue knitting like this: 5 sts front band, 16 sts dbl moss sts inside 2 sts purled along each side of the moss sts. (Front band is knitted 3 sts ga along the edge and 2 sts st st inside) On the 13th row knitting forth and back knit the 1st buttonhole like this: Knit until 5 sts are left on row, k2tog, yon, k3. Repeat buttonholes like this every 4th cm. When work measures 19 cm cast of for the armholes like this: K32, cast of 6 sts, k54, cast off 6 sts, k32.
(For the long-legged suit knit until work measures 26 cm before casting off for the armholes. Continue knitting front and back separately.
Left side front: Continue knitting front band, pattern and st st and at the same time decrease 1,1 sts along the armhole every ...

The front band is knitted with 3 sts ga against the edges and 2 sts st st inside. The suit are buttoned front with very small white buttons.

The cap is white with a little blue pattern.

The edge is knitted in dbl moss sts and knitted in st st with decreases around the top. I have made 2 chords, 1 white and 1 blue. They are bound in bows and sewed tog at the top of the cap. A sneak peek at this pattern ...  Cap Cast on 72 sts in white and knit 1 row. Continue knitting in the round. Knit the sts onto 4 double pointed ndls and knit 10 rows dbl moss sts, 2 rows st st. On next row increase 8 sts evenly on row = 80 sts in total. (20 sts on each ndl) Knit 1 row st st before knitting 6 rows pattern. (See diagram) Continue knitting st st in white until work measures 8 cm. On next row do the following decreases: Decrease...

Then I knitted a pair of lovely socks as accessories. They are knitted in dbl moss sts around the legs and the feet are knitted In garter sts.

A sneak peek at this pattern ... Socks Cast on 40 sts in white and knit 1 row. Continue knitting 10 rows dbl moss sts inside 2 sts at each side knitted in ga = edge sts before knitting 2 rows ga. (Folded edge along the 1st row ga) Continue knitting 2 rows st st. On next row decrease 8 sts evenly on row inside edge sts. Continue knitting 11 rows st st and edge sts. On next row knit a row of eyelets like this inside edge sts: K2tog, yon alternatively across row. Knit 1 row. Continue knitting  ...

With a blue chord pulled through the eyelets these socks are perfect to make the “baby” outfit complete.

I also started to knit a blanket to these clothes. However, it turned out that I did not have enough yarn for this blanket. Trying to get more yarn, it turned out that the yarn was too different from the yarn I knitted in. Therefore I have decided to show you my ongoing work for the blanket instead. The pattern tells you how to finish the blanket.

A sneak peek at this pattern ... Blanket Cast on 160 sts and knit 1 row. Continue knitting 24 rows dbl moss sts. Continue knitting 16 sts dbl moss sts at each side and garter sts between until work measures 42 cm before knitting 24 rows dbl moss sts over all sts. Cast off sts. Should you like a larger blanket cast on more sts (30 sts = 10 cm) and knit garter stitch between the dbl moss sts larger and at the   ....
