Kirsten in February

I knit the Kirsten #19 pattern as part of a group Knit Along project with the American Girl Knitters group on Ravelry. I had a difficult time choosing my yarn colors for this project, but finally decided to use the same colors as I had recently used to knit a hat and mittens made for a baby gift. It was a good choice since my Emily doll looks as lovely in this aqua shade as did the new auburn haired baby boy who received the hat and mittens.

The completed outfit was donated to a local charity that provides dolls dressed in hand-made clothing as Christmas gifts to children in need.

I enjoyed knitting the overall stranded pattern and making the pleats in the skirt. Both techniques were interesting challenges that kept my knitting from becoming tedious.
