Model 0132D MARIA - Pants, Sweater, Cape, Socks, Hat and Scarf
(This pattern fits 17" - 18" dolls like American Girl doll, Baby born and Alexander doll)
Then I have knitted another outfit for my doll. This time I have called my model Maria. I sometimes find it difficult to find a new name for a new outfit. Then some time ago, I thought; “why not use names of people I was lucky to know when I grow up?” One of them was Maria. She was mother of ...
... one of my friends and a very friendly woman. Always welcome in to a home with many people and place for all. A lot of laughter and good time in her house.
I think the clothes I have knitted this time is classic and therefore they could be named Maria. When Maria grow old, she was always so beautiful and well dressed. Her daughters took so good care of her, and they loved to see their mother look nice.
So I knitted this blue pants in light blue and tried to let it look like an overall. I buttoned it along each side and used dbl moss sts round the edges and the top of it.
When I had finished it I liked it very much and thought that a nice sweater in light blue and white would be nice to fit this overall. This sweater ...
... is short sleeved and buttoned at the top of the opening back. White edges are knitted in a rib. Looking at this pattern for the sweater when it was knitted I thought it looked good.
Then I decided to knit my doll Maria a cap in the same pattern with white edges knitted in a rib. At each side of the hat, ...
... I made two chords and sewed them to the ends of the hat bound up in a bow at each side. (See picture)
So what should my doll wear for cold days I thought? A nice cape in dark blue would be fine. I used nice edges with
pattern knitted in one color, and I knitted it with a hood. Kept together ...
with a little loop I bought in a shop. (You might sew a loop of buttonhole sts and a button to the opposite side if you cast find a loop like mine where you live)
At last, I knitted her a pair of socks in dark blue as belongings to this outfit
I hope you will like it and enjoy knitting it!
